I do assume that most of those that find this blog will already know who I am, and will probably only have found this blog by googling my name.... but for those that don't: at my core I'm "a graphics guy", somewhere between industry (currently at Intel) and Academia (currently SCI, University of Utah), and usually "somewhere" around topics like ray tracing, general rendering, global illumination, visualization, parallel rendering, etcpp (usually with a strong dose of - did I say it already - ray tracing!); and with a certain amount of work in areas such as compilers and programming models (IVL, ISPC), performance-programming on interesting hardware architecutres (CPUs, Xeon Phis, Larrabee, GPUs, ...) etc thrown in (again, usually involving some form of ray tracing).
I'm currently working for Intel, as Tech Lead for Intel's Software Defined Visualization Technologies (mostly on Embree and OSPRay) - though of course, it's usually the others in the team that do all the work... In addition to writing (or "architecting") software I also do a fair amount of publications involving the topics discussed above. For those interested in an overview, I'd suggest my google scholar profile, at https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=HsZvWv0AAAAJ&hl=en .
